Storage array sanitization

Storage arrays present a unique challenge for the destruction of data and recovery of value. Most enterprise storage OEMs offer data wiping services that are outrageously priced and force equipment owners to have the drives shredded instead. This results in a significant loss of economic and environmental resources for the company and society.

DMD has developed an innovative approach to wiping any type of storage array on-site or using secure chain-of-custody to conduct the erasure at our facility. Then, through extensive knowledge markets for used hard drives and data center equipment, we are able to recover value that will offset the destruction costs or even result in payment back to our clients.

We have experience conducting single or triple-pass wipes with government-approved erasure programs for the following brands:

  • Dell
  • HP
  • IBM
  • NetApp
  • EMC
  • Hitachi
  • 3PAR

In addition, any type of SATA/SAS/FC/SSD drives can be removed from arrays and wiped using our mobile erasure lab.

All wipes conform to the NIST 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization and the DoD 5220.22-M standard.
