DMD Systems Recovery Inc. (DMD) announces the award of R2v3 Certification. R2v3 contains six individual appendixes detailing process requirements specific to different industry standards. DMD obtained four out of the six appendixes, specific to the ITAD industry, to enhance DMD’s core processes and procedures.
R2v3 Certification is the newest and most comprehensive certification from Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI). R2v3 Certification is the replacement for the 2013 R2 Certification which will end by 2023. R2v3 was created by SERI in 2021 for increased clarity and scalability by dividing R2 standards into two categories: “Core” and “Process” Requirements. DMD is certified in four of the R2 Process Requirements: Downstream Recycling Chain, Data Sanitization, Testing and Repair, and Brokering. R2v3 establishes standards for handling and processing end-of-life electronics with increased requirements for data protection and environmental responsibility.
“We’re proud to welcome DMD Systems Recovery Inc. as an R2 Certified facility,” said SERI Executive Director Corey Dehmey. “All facilities will claim they’ll protect your data and do everything the right way. But how do you know they really do? R2 Certification is how you know.”
In addition to DMD’s R2v3 certification, we have three ISO certifications: ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001. Out of these three certifications, ISO 9001 is DMD’s newest ISO certification. ISO 9001 focuses on standardizing quality management by examining performance and facilitating customer satisfaction. ISO 14001 prioritizes environmental impact by effectively utilizing resources. ISO 45001 emphasizes proactive management to prioritize occupational health and safety. These three ISO certifications assist DMD’s initiatives for quality assurance, strong environmental performance, and zero workplace risks.
“ISO 9001 allows organizations to adapt to a changing world” explains acting ISO Secretary-General Kevin McKinley. “It enhances an organization’s ability to satisfy its customers and provides a coherent foundation for growth and sustained success.”
“The successful completion of the R2v3 Certification is a continued affirmation that we continue to prioritize environmental sustainability, safety, and data security while holding true to our values”, said Alison Leslie, DMD Compliance Manager. “This is a consistent collaborative effort, and I am extraordinarily proud and grateful to everyone here.”
